BUILDING PERMIT
Building Permit and/or FEMA Permit Are Required for All
Construction , Alteration, Movement, Enlargement, Replacement, Repair, Equipment, Use, Occupancy, Removal, Location, Demolition of Building and/or Property
The provisions of the International Residential Code for One or Two Dwelling or International Building Code shall apply to the construction, alteration, movement, enlargement, or replacement, repair, equipment, use and occupancy, removal, location and demolition of detached one and two family dwelling and multiple single family dwelling (townhouses) or Commercial Building not more than three stories in height with a separate means of egress and their accessory structures.
Special Provision
When interior alterations repairs or additions requiring a permit occur, or when one or more sleeping rooms are constructed in an existing building, the individual dwelling shall be provided with smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors located as required for new dwelling; the smoke alarms shall be interconnected and hard wired. In existing areas the smoke alarms are not required to be interconnected and hard wired, but battery smoke alarms and carbon monoxide shall be required.
